Position: Business Analyst                                         Reports to: Data Team Leader
(Location: USA within LiftFund footprint)


This position is designed to be a solution-oriented problem solver, a thoughtful coordinator of data, a resource dedicated to explaining and sharing data, a participant in projects throughout LiftFund, an educator and ambassador of practice with staff, and a team member who is dedicated to LiftFund’s mission of providing credit and support to entrepreneurs and innovation in our field.

Responsibilities:
 
Data & Analytics
  • Create and maintain high-impact, in-depth analyses that inform decision making and facilitate meeting goals
  • Maintain and monitor existing Power BI data models and ensure data quality
  • Use Power Query and DAX to iterate/improve on existing or create new Power BI data models as needed
  • Monitor and update Power BI dataflows as needed to update our datasets
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of data sources and systems; Understand how our data universe behaves and what downstream data impacts new or changed data streams may have on our analytics and reporting
  • Assist in managing and implementing workflow and system improvements. Manage low-code 3rd party integrations that support some of our data sources
  • Assist Data Team members with retraining statistical data models
  • Audit data between systems periodically and take appropriate steps to correct and/or report inconsistencies when found
  • Maintain knowledge of current methods of data gathering and required intake processes
  • Maintain and develop documentation on internal processes
Strategy & Support
  • Manage data-related projects
  • Be a process development resource for staff from a data perspective; Consult with users/managers to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes
  • Interface between IT and less technical users as needed; Work with technical vendor teams
  • Support staff ability to track work and document activity
  • Support departments in data gathering and validation and research
  • Coordinate with staff on data sharing and data mining
  • Train staff on best practices and standard methods of systems
  • Write or contribute to instructions/manuals/SOPs to guide end users
  • Analyze data to ensure responsiveness of department goals
  • Create and implement surveys
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate business problems to analytical solutions and insights
  • 2+ years of experience in CRM platform, preferably CRM Dynamics
  • 2+ years experience in data and project coordination and team building
  • Solid understanding of relational database structure, data governance, and rigor involved in connecting/integrating different systems
  • 1+ years of experience with business intelligence data modeling and report building, preferably Power BI
  • Experience in/with:
    • Creating visualizations (either in Excel or in a Business Intelligence platform)
    • Collaborating online in any of these: MS Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Google Suite/Drive
    • Query building with SQL, M, or other data table manipulation language
    • Leading virtual trainings and recording videos
  • Skills in:
    • Data analysis, researching solutions to problems
    • Microsoft Suite, high quality document creation
    • Experience with Business Intelligence (Power BI preferred)
    • Mapping data from one source to another source
    • Coding & programming logic
  • Basic understanding of statistics (preference given to those with higher levels of understanding/experience with stats and statistical models)
  • Intermediate Excel skills, especially hands-on experience with data cleaning & validation, tables, pivot tables, and joining data. Alternatively, ability to do same in R or Python and present clean results in Excel to a business-oriented audience.

  • Ability to collaborate in projects, communicate effectively, and problem solve
  • Demonstrate responsibility for self-initiatives and deadlines
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in an appropriate/related field or equivalent work experience (3+ years as a data or business analyst)
