Director of Women's Business Center @ DFW  (Full-Time, Exempt)

The Women’s Business Center serves the greater Dallas/Fort Worth region and is part of the hub of support for entrepreneurs, especially women, minorities, and low-income individuals in DFW.
Reports to: Chief Advancement Officer
The role of the Director is to:
  • Equip business owners, both aspiring and established, to start, stabilize, and grow their business.
  • Be a voice for entrepreneurs as it relates to access to capital, contracting, and more.
  • Build relationships with partners and create collaborations with experts and community organizations.
  • Design and implement business curriculum and programming.
  • Measure impact of business center activity
  • Support staffing of WBC and collaborate with other business advisors.
  • Consistently communicate with clients, leaders, and supporters of entrepreneurship.
  • Manage the Women’s Business Center grant, reporting, and compliance with LiftFund team members to SBA and other funders as required.
  • Carry-out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, and directing work assignments, conduct performance appraisals, problem resolution
  • Be innovative and committed to learning beyond the walls of LiftFund to assist entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
Responsibilities:
Outreach:
  • Be an expert voice in business education and financial management
  • Create curriculum and events that facilitate the growth of small businesses at all stages of their life cycle
  • Facilitate and connect volunteers and experts with clients’ eager to learn
  • Be a resource for capital needs for clients seeking business loans.
  • Design, prepare and conduct curriculu, counseling and seminars to target clientele
  • Provide expertise and support in developing business, financial, and marketing planning
  • Support clients in local, state, and federal government certification and contracting
  • Cultivate relationships with community leaders, maintain an advisory board, develop partnerships for funding purposes.
 Marketing:
  • Conduct outreach and education about US SBA and LiftFund services and products
  • Prepare and disseminate information regarding the services provided by US SBA and LiftFund.
  • Participate in outreach activities (newsletters, events, etc.)
  • Design and create outreach materials (marketing, newsletters, stories, articles, etc.)
 Team Support:
  • Work with LiftFund teams in creating client pipeline and borrower relationships with education and resources.
Administrative:
  • Create and maintain client and partner information in LiftFund database
  • Create and update business training materials and collateral pieces that promote seminars and LiftFund services
  • Maintain and update plans and goals set forth by LiftFund and any grants that support the business center work
  • Assist in preparing required reports for internal purposes and for external reporting purposes.
  • Support money generated events and programs
  • Conduct other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as experience with public speaking and facilitation of meetings required.
  • Bachelors in Business, Marketing, Management or Technology required; Three to Five years of entrepreneurial, financial, industrial or technical sales and management teaching and/or counseling experience required.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience of the following: Microsoft Products, including CRM, social media, budgeting and strategic planning, contracting experience, small business management, sales and information systems are important.
 Ability to:
  • Provide relevant and strategic business advice relating to established business owners or aspiring business owner’s needs (market research, sales advice, financial planning, etc.)
  • Conduct and plan training programs and marketing seminars
  • Experienced in developing business, financial, and marketing plans
  • Implement marketing and outreach to build a client base
  • Advise business owners on their financial activity and provide recommendations to improve financial position
  • Maintain multiple clients simultaneously
  • Work flexible hours and travel
  • Build volunteer base
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English
